... or so my tastes seem to have shifted towards contemporaries. I don't know why. IMO, Faking It is a little bit better than Welcome to Temptation. I actually read it before the first one, and I fell head over heels for Davy, so it's probably the book I blame the most for my Jennifer Crusie ... ... this!

Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn - another good one in the series! ... hero has a huge ego and is such a jerk that he is really annoying me. However, it is worth the read.
ktleyed, I thought Welcome to Temptation was just OK. However, give Crusie another chance and read Bet Me. I think you might like it.
... but as a rule I avoid chick lit. I am thinking of reading Faking It though, because I did like the character of Davy in Welcome to Temptation. Congrats on reaching 75! I'm sorry you didn't care for Welcome to Temptation, it's one of my favorites. I actually read the sequel, Faking It, first, though, and had already loved it. I'm a huge Crusie fan, though, so it could just be different strokes for different folks and all that. Ktleyed--
You know, I haven't read Welcome to Temptation, or any book by Cruise really, but I'm sure it's not just you. I'm usually the same way-- unless the book is a really good one, I try to stay away from contemporary and chick lits. I'm more of a fantasy girl at heart, whether its ... I finally finished Welcome to Temptation, not bad, but the narrator made all the characters sound flat and annoying, if I pursue the sequel, I'll read it rather than listen. Next on the list, Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn. Thanks Stasia and drneutron!
#76 Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie I wasn't bowled over by this chick lit romance - I don't see what all the fuss was about. It was okay, but I found most of the characters annoying - maybe it was the narrator on audiobook. Not sure if I'll pursue ... I just finished listening to Welcome to Temptation, my first Jennifer Crusie and frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about. It was okay, but nothing that great, I thought the whole thing was kind of farfetched and ridiculous and I wasn't even all that enamoured of any of the characters ... Crazy for You was hilarious! I love Crusie, she's one of my favorite authors. Bet Me is one of my favorites, along with Welcome to Temptation, but pretty much all of hers are golden, IMO. ... narrator was so-so but she mispronounced a lot of words which was annoying, but I still enjoyed the audio. I'm now giving Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie another try, I couldn't get into it last time, but I'm more in the mood for it this time around. 5. Romantic Comedy/Chick Lit

I am now reading The Encyclopedia of Immaturity: How to Never Grow Up, The Complete Guide by Klutz and Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie. Aw, sorry you disliked Welcome to Temptation enough to quit on it, ktleyed. I find Crusie's stuff is like that ~ totally annoying heroines & really unlikeable heros at the beginning, then if you persevere through that, the story really takes off, the characters change, and the ending is wonderful! ... I gave up on Welcome to Temptation, I just couldn't get into it. I had it on audiobook. The narrator wasn't bad, but I just felt the heroine was so annoying, I felt it was more of a chore than anything else to listen to this story. Five is not enough :)

How could I have forgotten Janet Evanovich books! I think they may be "chick lit". I loved them all, but the Stephanie Plum series are the best, beginning with One for the Money, T ... I don't do much chick lit either, but I do like the occasional Jennifer Crusie. Another poster suggested Welcome To Temptation. I have never read that one (though I own it and intend to) My favorite of hers is Faking It. So funny. (Which I believe may be a kind of sequel to Temptation.) ... Roberts

And if you like romance with some humor to it, I personally favor Jennifer Crusie - Bet Me, Welcome to Temptation, and Faking It are my favorites. ... be a dog owner - she has a really good feel for their personalities.
The one with body wrapped in a shower curtain was Welcome to Temptation. That one and Faking It are really good for lot of laughs.
Katie MacAlister has a wicked sense of humor {and here in New England, "wicked" ... ... lot of those screwball comedies where the couple is always at odds due to a miscommunication. 1st and 2nd runners up are Welcome to Temptation and Faking It - they feature a pair of sisters and a brother who were raised by a con man. I didn't like the collaborative novel she did with Bob Something-or-other, forget the title, but it had a beagle on the cover.

Ahm, I felt a bit bad about it since I got her just a book. Granted it was Jennifer Crusie's Welcome to temptation and since she loves Susan Elizabeth Phillips I hope she will enjoy it.

My wife and I listened to the audiobook of Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie all the way to Dallas on Friday and about half way back home on Saturday. We really liked the story, and I think I will read the book also because this was an abridged tape. The reader wasn't the best I've ... ... SEP, so she decided she needed to read that one, too. She might even stay awake on our trip to Dallas tonight to listen to Welcome to Temptation.

I found Welcome to Temptation by Crusie, which I wanted anyway, so I got it for the trip. I read What the Lady Wants, but I think I'm going to wait and read Devil in Winter after I ... Stor- Welcome to Temptation is on my list as the next Crusie book. And I read Breathing Room last night. The problem is that once I get started I can't stop. I started it just after dinner and didn't finish it until after 11:00. So maybe I can sleep during my lunch hour.
