Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind should be right up your alley. The whole series is good so far- except I see you've already added it. Oh well, it's still a good book!
If you like it, they've created a drama based on the books called Legend of the Seeker. Very enjoyable. ... books because I have no idea what series you guys are talking about!

The final trilogy suffers from repetitiveness, inexplicable character ... I've never read Wizard's First Rule, but I've watched the delightfully cheesy syndicated TV show based on the Sword of Truth books, Legend of the Seeker, which is supposed to be pretty different. It's good fun for a TV show, but I'm worried if I read the books it will take away all my guilty ... 44) Wizard's First Rule BY: Terry Goodkind Excellent beginning to a wonderful series. I had read this some years ago, but hadn't gotten far into the series so I thought that since the entire series is finished, i might as well go through it all. Now since this was my first real foray into ... Still making my through Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I'm more than half way done and it's a real page turner. LOVE IT! Well, Legend of the Seeker just started here, I took the chance to read the book Wizard's first rule concurrently with the first two episodes as an attempt to eliminate the first one wins effect. I thought the category was Science Fiction, but it's Science Fiction/Fantasy.
This weekend I finished Wizard's First Rule. It's the first book in the Sword of Truth series and the tv series The Legend of the Seeker is based on these books. I was going to give it 4 1/2 ... I finished, but wished I hadn't, Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. Disgusting book.

Wizard's First Rule because I am loving the Legend of the Seeker TV show. I hear that the books are different, but the overall tone seems Tolkien-y. Of course, while ... I set aside Wizard's First Rule because I'm not really digging Goodkind's writing style and picked up The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl by Shauna Reid instead. TAAoD is fantastic! Armstrong is one of my favorite authors, and, although this is the first book I've read by either author, Goodkind and Kornfield are quickly becoming favorites as well. Haven't purchased them yet, but I ordered Wizard's First Rule and the Third Jesus from a local bookshop today. Started Wizard's First Rule (Terry Goodkind) today on audio cd, since I borrowed the audio version of Phantom from the library earlier and realized halfway through that it was part of a series, and far from the first book in said series (what a dope, eh?). (Just to add the touchstones, here's Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind and The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan.)
