The title page carries the following sub-title passage: "A black and white study of a great man and his partner.....The second public appearance of Bill Corcoran, Jack Stewart and Little Charlie Walker.....Passage through desert days along some Death Valley trails.....An introduction to some Death Valley men.....Search for treasure, vast and golden." The book is dedicated to Little Charlie Walker. It's been a very long time since I read the book and I don't remember much about it other than wondering why a person would find such a place to be their "heaven on earth". It didn't make me really want to visit the place. I should read it again, I think. I give it three stars because anything with a geography tag should be worth the effort. ( )
