I think the editor should have advised on a more elegant title! It is an interesting read because it shows what goes through the mind of the average South African young black male. At the end of the book, I wondered what was his intention towards the girls he chatted up along the way, as at some point he says he would never cheat on his girlfriend (that part also needed a bit of editing). It's very refreshing to read an African travel book written by an African. This book is amusing and informative, without being as patronising as most travel books about Africa. It tries to look at Africa differently, and succeeds to some extent. Nevertheless, it is clear that an urban black South African is still somewhat removed from the experience of most Africans throughout the continent. Well worth reading. ( )
