Summary
The monkeys need to go to bed but they want to listen to more bedtime stories. After their mother tucks them in for bed they decide to read more stories. After getting catch by their mother multiple times the monkeys hear a noise in their mother’s bedroom. The five little monkeys find their mother reading in her bed. The monkeys decide it is time to go to bed and they will read more stories tomorrow.

Personal Reaction
I have two nieces who love to read. When they stay the night at my house they ask to read before bed. After reading two books they beg me to read more stories. We will read multiple books until I realize an hour has past and they are still awake. We have to stop reading since it is past their bedtime and I tell them we will finish the books tomorrow.

Extension Ideas:
1.The students could wear their pajamas and we have a reading day.
2.The students could bring in their favorite bedtime story and read it to the class.
3.The students could write their own bedtime story and share it with the class.

I loved this book because I love reading and because it is a clever play on the 5 monkeys jumping on the bed book/rhyme. A good one to read with kids before going to bed.
