A very gentle autobiography. Rarely a bad word said about anyone (Jack Lord being the exception, in one brief, sharp sentence) and often frustratingly lacking in detail.

His first marriage ended tragically with his wife jumping from a building with her 2 sons from a previous marriage. That whole relationship dealt with in a couple of pages and the sons not named at all. Very little also on the filming of Mary Poppins for example - there's probably more about how he first met Disney.

But for all that, its a good read. We don't really find out what made DT tick but he comes across as a decent sort, who's no pushover by any stretch and who knew his worth (he never had a manager or agent and dealt with his own finances). And as someone who had his feet on the ground and knew how lucky he was to be earning a good living doing what he did. ( )
