Во время авиарейса Берлин-Нью-Йорк, выполняемого сверхсовременным «Боингом-747», у Кайл Пратт неожиданно бесследно пропадает 6-летняя дочь Джулия. Переживая эмоциональный стресс после безвременной кончины мужа, Кайл отчаянно пытается доказать свою вменяемость не верящим ей членам экипажа и пассажирам.
