Good intentions, I suppose, and absolutely wonderful illustrations. But no satisfaction.

Grandma has no telephone, no neighbors, and finally does take a fall from which she can't get up. Fortunately, her little grand-daughter is there visiting. Unfortunately, there was heavy snow the night before. Fortunately, Mary Jo is strong and brave enough to trek all the way down to the main road and get the attention of a snowplow.

But now what? Will everyone go 'Neener-neener I told you so; now you really have to leave your home to Grandma? I don't know - the story just ends." ( )

Mary Jo goes to visit with her grandma out in the country for the night during a snowy winter. Her grandmother falls and sprains her ankle, so Mary Jo has to help her grandma get comfortable, give her some food, and then go find help. The interaction between the two is very loving and trusting.
