The story summarizes Abraham Lincoln's life and gives us the important details throughout his life. It shows us the boy who grew up to become a lawyer, was elected president, lived through the Civil War, and then was assassinated. This ballad shows what Abe Lincoln believed in and what a great president he was. It is a perfect book for children who are being introduced to Abraham Lincoln and who he was. Myra Cohn Livingston did an amazing job in summarizing his life story! ( )

This ballad tells the story of one of The United States' most adored presidents. The watercolor illustrations fit well with the text. The book helps young readers understand Lincoln's historical significance and philosophy and is fun to read aloud.

Lincoln was very brave president who stood for the rights of all people. This book made is up of poetry that covers all the main events in Lincolns life. Even though this is a shorter book and only covers the main events throughout his life, this would be a great book to read to students in remembrance of Lincoln or to express his love and passion for ending slavery. This book is great for the younger readers. ( )

This is a great book of Abe Lincoln's life. This is a great book if a student needs to learn about a specific person or intrested in past president's. This would be a great story to read out loud to children on President's Day. ( )

Actually really good short synapsis of Abraham Lincoln's life, two small little couplets for each phase of his life. Not a big fan of the illustrations, though. ( )
