The only author I was familiar with was MaryJanice Davidson after collecting her Undead series, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and am still craving for more. I braced myself for some spoilers because I know I'm reading some works of other authors that are also part of their respective series. I enjoyed most of the short stories here, but some not so much. If you're a fan of vampire stories and such, this is a time-travels-fast type of read.1st story: The guy is screaming gay, didn't like him at all. In this story, I felt I started in the middle but had no urgent desire to read the Anita Blake series.2nd story: It's intriguing, would like to read a Sookie Stackhouse novel.3rd story: Very concise, since I'm familiar with the other characters from Davidson's 'Undead' series, this is a side story of a French vampire who appeared in the 5th book (Undead and Unpopular). It's quite charming to read Sophie's and Liam's history and there's always the signature humor where Betsy and Sinclair are concerned.4th story: Interesting, witches and vampires working together and it's sort of a fantasy world. I liked it, I've been warming to the subject of dragons.5th story: This one's quite serious, didn't like it that much. But at least there are no loose ends in this one. ( )I have finished reading [Bite]. Those who like vampire fiction will love this book. Bite is an anthology of short stories from some of the genres best authors. The included stories are:
I am still relatively new to vampire fiction, so most of these author's are new to me. I thoroughly enjoyed these stories, however, and I will most certainly be delving deeper into this genre. Pretty good anthology. Just wish the stories were a bit longer. Great stories. I got this book from the library because I love Laurell Hamilton and this book opened me up to new authors I had never heard of.
