A group of three ghosts go around scaring different characters and making fun, soon comes to the home of a child. They were just about to try to scare him when the boy sits up and shouts "BOO" and scares the ghosts. This would be a good book for children who are afraid of the dark or monsters under their bed. The story of Three Little Ghosties is a book about three ghost telling stories of how they have scared different creature. The first ghost scared three ghouls. The second ghost scare three witches. The third ghost scare three ogres. After the stories they want to go scare some little boys and girls. They go to a little boy’s house and try to sneak up on him in bed, but right before they scare him, he jumps up and yells boo! The ghost are so scared, they fly back to their house where their mothers send them to bed.
I think this book is really cute and a really fun Halloween book for children. When I was little I would be afraid of ghost and this book would have given me a laugh of how easily these three little ghost were scared of one little boy. I think all children will love this book, from really young to older children.
Classroom extensions:
1. For the class’s Halloween art, have students paint or draw a picture of them scaring a spooky creature that they are usually afraid of. This will help self-esteem because the picture will show them being brave and strong.
2. For math students will do an activities called Ghostly Fact Family found on Teacherspayteachers.com where students will match the ghost to the correct Haunted House and record their fact families on the recording sheet.
