Cool! I just finished Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality by Donald Miller. That makes my total 110 now.

... the five stars were rereads, some of them just didn't have the impact on me now that they did when I first read them, like Blue Like Jazz. However, four stars is very good in my rating system and even three isn't bad, so I've actually read a lot of fine books this year.

#25 foggi: In unsuggested Blue Like Jazz for me, too, though I've no idea what it's about. I think you're right. You remove library books from your catalog after you've read them (I think?) so it would alter this. What about your account for what you read? :) I only have one LT account ...

I just got done reading The Time Traveler's Wife, as well as Blue Like Jazz, both of which were just a little light summer reading. ( : Now it's back to work with The Right to Write and The Artist's Way. And Dickens is such a hero of mine. I can honestly say that Pip and Estella forever ...

I loved Captivating and also Blue Like Jazz. I haven't read anything serious Christian recently, more fiction. I always have too many books I'm reading at once! Currently in the middle of Earl Creps' Off-Road Disciplines, he is a Librarythinger author. When I finish that, I plan on ...

... One book I'd recommend to anyone dealing with head/heart issues and the struggle against self is Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz. It's a memoir, of sorts, but one that manages to be funny, touching, and thought-provoking.

I just finished Blue Like Jazz, and now I'm working on getting through Traveling Mercies. Not so sure about it yet, but she writes beautifully and I love that part, at least. :)

Velvet Elvis is my all time favorite non-fiction book, barely edging out Blue Like Jazz. ;) I've talked random people in B&N into buying it...

(And God bless you, sir, for owning not only Blue Like Jazz but Velvet Elvis! May this young lady point out that you ROCK! ;))

I've just finished reading Blue Like Jazz. It is not the longest book ever written but I found it interesting because the author geets away from cliches about the Christian faith and reworks some of the basic themes that we all regard as important so we can look at them in fresh ways.

... I have picked up some great books there. Love in the Time of Cholera Living to Tell the Tale To the Lighthouse Jazz Beloved A Prayer for Owen Meany Paperbacks are .50 cents, and hardcovers are $1.00. I usually swing by once a month to see what's new.
