Maloney takes us on a journey of intense and beautiful language. Her poems offer tight vignettes of an appreciated life during and following cancer treatments. While cancer figures prominently in the theme of the book, the poems Maloney offers are universally appealing and meaningful, such as in the poem June, July and August, excerpted below:

The sun's warmth melts my pain one drop at a time.
It blesses my memory and coaxes me to breathe.
I celebrate by riding on the back of hope, caressing its
smooth neck. With gratitude, I sing love notes
to the wind as it blow by me on its way to picnics.

Maloney offers much to the poetry-loving world. You will enjoy your sojourn in her private landscape. ( )
