Amazon.com Amazon.com Review (ISBN 0312963963, Mass Market Paperback)

If you haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting the crime-solving Sister Mary Helen and her feisty sidekick Sister Eileen, Death of an Angel is a good place to start. Deceptive gentleness masks a fierce strength, which Sister Mary Helen no doubt inherits from her creator, Sister Carol Anne O'Marie, who runs a shelter for homeless women in Oakland, California when she's not giving religious mysteries a good name. Between juggling their regular duties, ducking the notice of the detectives on the case, and attempting to straighten out the life of a sad young woman employed by the college library, Sister Mary Helen and Sister Eileen have their hands full. But as criminals, law enforcement types, and their fellow nuns have discovered, there's no stopping the pair if they feel their involvement is called for.… (more)
