Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0395850754, Paperback)

A table, a chair, a bear, a window, and a doll are just some of the twenty-one objects from a child's bedroom that are identified here in English, Arabic, Cambodian, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Lao, Navajo, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, and shown in illustrations reminiscent of folk art. Every word is spelled out phonetically as well as in the thirteen languages. In the surprise ending, all the objects are brought together to create a bedroom, and the reader is invited, on the last page, to "Please come in." Table, Chair, Bear is a book of familiar objects for very young children, an introduction to foreign languages for children who may be curious about languages other than their own, and an inviting picture book for the many children whose native language is not English.

(retrieved from Amazon Thu, 12 Mar 2015 18:09:48 -0400)

Presents illustrations of objects found in a child's room, labeled in thirteen different languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Japanese, and French.
