In the book "Old-Fashioned Garden Wisdom" by Larry Maxcy, we are given planting advice to weather problems to houseplant care. This garden book gives great tips on pests and evicting them from your garden and making the soil more welcome for the plants and less attractive to the pests. Growing vegetables and herbs with simple tips for harvesting are included. The simple paragraph format is easy to follow and both the table of contents and index make it easy to use. Though not brightly colored, photographed or fancy in design, this book is a good garden-side companion which has answers for most questions a common gardener will have. I enjoy browsing it for the lore as well as reading it for answers and information. Although this is not a new book, it is new to me and I am very happy to have found it. I recommend it with 4 stars.
