Book description
A book of stories and personal accounts from a 14 year-old dyslexia sufferer. From rear cover: "Paris Innes, an otherwise normal 14 uear -old, suffers from dyslexia, or word-blindness. While teachers constantly assessed him as 'average', his parents realised that Paris' reading and writing problems were not normal - and they took action. They found a Smith Corona word processor with a spelling function that alerts you to mistakes as you go along, and paibnstakingly taught Paris to touch type. It changed his life: "It was like my nerve was unblocked and other people could read my work and undersand it." While Paris's handwriting remains barely legible, the word processor has enabled him to overcome much of his frustration, and produce written work of a high standard. The stories in this book demonstrate his intelligence and imagination; and his experiences will offer hope to other dyslexics who despair of beign able to communicate."
