Self Helpless is a silly parody of books of the "self- help" genre, the books that promise to help you straighten out your life. It is written by two authors well known for comedic works -- Jonathan Bines (author of Bushisms/ President George Herbert Walker Bush in His Own Words ) and Gary Greenberg (author of The Pop Up Book of Phobias , and its popular sequel, The Pop Up Book of Nightmares). Self-Helpless consists entirely of (mock) front and back covers of 60 notable works, including these:

* Ventriloquism for Dummies
* The Habits of Seven Highly Defective People.
* My Mother, Myself: A Guide to Asexual Reproduction
* When Bad Things Happen to Good Humor People
* What Color Is Your Parasite
* Men Who Hate Women, and with Good Reason
* Smart Lemmings, Foolish Choices
* Spontaneous Heckling: Berate Your Way to Better Health
* Women Who Love To Mulch: The Feminist Gardening Guide

and
How to Win Followers and Indoctrinate People.

There's also a list of book for further reading. They include The Complete Idiot's Guide to Experimental Neurosurgery, Don't Sweat in the Chicken Soup, The Tibetan Book of the Grateful Dead, and many others.

It helps if you're familiar with the self- help genre and the particular best- selling books that this one mocks. I found it laugh-out-loud funny, but then, I'm pretty easily amused by this sort of thing. ( )
