Venus, ca år 2000
Den 23 maj 1970 sprang samtlige jordens atomværker i luften. Det er aldrig opklaret hvem der stod bag. Man afskaffede krig mellem nationerne og satte en organisation under ledelse af general Nigel Morgan og professor James Milton til at håndhæve det. Oberst Tim Ryan er Morgans næstkommanderende og en sand helt. Dette er fortsættelsen af "Tim Ryan i atomernes tempel".
Tim Ryan, professor James Milton og kaptajn Frank Remington (de gode) befinder sig på Venus, hvortil de er kommet som følge af at deres rumskib er sendt afsted fra Mars af de ondsindede marsboere. Heldigvis viser det sig at nogle af venusboerne (der ligesom marsboerne ligner mennesker på en prik) kan tale engelsk.

Enormt stilsikker bog. De naturvidenskabelige forklaring er det rene vrøvl, men afleveres uden skygge af tvivl. Figurerne er skåret ud af pap, men replikkerne og tempoet er i orden. Meget underholdende og helt uden anden værdi end det. ( )
