Volume II of her The Shadow Dwellers Series involves the human and preternatural worlds. This romantic erotic book includes vampires in a story of jealousy and revenge.

Ten years have past and the story continues. Mikhail is still jealous of Val and wants Shai who is Val’s lover and to bring Val running he abducts the elder vampire Miranda, a friend and past companion. Jennifer Beaumont (Val’s loyal friend) courageously seeks knowledge about the hostage by visiting her old insane creator Mikhail. Jen is very afraid of Mikhail and gave up Mac, the love of her life, to protect him. Jen suffers at Mikhail’s hand.

Val knows that Mikhail is very dangerous and must be killed. He meets with the Council of Elders charging Mikhail with these crimes. Mikhail is ordered to produce Miranda unharmed in 24 hours. Mac tells Val that he will help and then renews his relationship with Jen. Mac & Jen were meant for each other and their reconciliation is very sensuous.

As Jen foretells Mikhail killing Miranda, Mac instinctively knows where to find her but arrives too late. Memories of his past come flooding back and Mac remembers his history. After Mikhail kidnaps Jen, Mac comes to her rescue and learns more about his past.

I recommend this book for its romantic story and look forward to the next installation in the series, Shameless. ( )
