"A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CHINA. Playing, exercising, resting under a lotus tree: the things happening in an ordinary park on an ordinary morning.

Early morning, and a community is coming to life. Children are playing, an artist is painting, people are exercising and meditating. Each page in this lovely picure book presents a snap-shot, and a final foldout spread collects them all to give a panorama of daily life in China. Hu yong Yi's paintings are saturated with color and rich in life and feeling."

Would be great to have students read on their own, very simple. Students will be able to see others doing things and be able to tie it to the text.

A cute book about a peaceful Chinese morning. A pop out illustration at the end brings it all together. ( )

This book is so simple but it conveys so much. The words are spare but the illustrations are rich and the combination lulls you into enjoying the rhythm of an everyday morning in China. Lovely book for small children.

This book is incredibly simple but beautiful. Gorgeous and mellow paintings illustrate this lovely simple tale of a morning in the park. The illustrations focuse on depicting actions and movements. I think it is a good book to introduce Chinese culture. Moreover, the last page holds a wonderful surprise, which unfolds to reveal the whole picture.
