Age Appropriateness: Primary Media: Watercolor Review: This story is about a family who is having a baby. The parents get lost on their way to the hospital and end up at the zoo. Instead of their human baby, they brought home an alligator. They go back to the zoo two more times trying to find their baby and bring home the wrong one, so their daughter goes to the zoo and finds the right baby. The mothers of the other animals come looking for their babies and break down part of the house, but in the end all appropriate mothers have their babies and the daughter saved the day. This story could be seen as realistic fiction because the animals do not talk or anything and it is possible that a family could bring the wrong baby home, but it is hardly likely that they would bring a zoo animal home. Another weird book by Munsch. Kristen's clueless parents drive to the zoo instead of the hospital when her mom is in labor. Three times, they ignore their daughter's warnings that their son is another's, and three times they get whapped in the face by the not-a-people-baby. Finally, Kristen has to save the day, which she does in a quick and admirable way (the illustrations in the zoo are funny in and of themselves, by the way). Everybody gets their own baby back, and we're told that everything is fine from then on... until Kristen's mom had twins. (Uh-oh.) This book is so absurd, you can't not love it. I really recommend it to anybody having a second child. It's a wonderful change of pace from standard "new baby" books. A classroom favortie for sure! I would put this in the top 3 of my favorite by Robert Munsch and probably in my top 10 favorite overall of my children's books. It's easily animated during a reading and the children love it! In this book, a girl's baby brother is born at the zoo and her parents keep bringing the wrong kind of baby home. Finally she sets off on her bicycle with a flashlight on her head to retrieve her brother and save the day. All mommies are reunited with their babies in the end. This book is engaging in classic Munsch/Martchenko style: zany storytelling, colorful illustrations, and the perfect balance between pattern, detail, and the unexpected. Great for reading aloud. no reviews | add a review

This was about a mom who's about to have her baby but her husband accidentally drives her to the zoo. She accidentally brings home a baby alligator instead of her son and when she does her daughter realizes.
Basically this happens with a seal and gorilla too. At the end the daughter goes to the zoo and finds her baby brother.
It was alright, easy french read. Recommended only for french book reports. Bye for now! (
