Used in Storytime 1/12/17 - The Letter L ( ) The author uses vivid adjectives describing the food making it sound very appetizing to kids. This book could be used to help teach children their colors and healthy eating habits. I really didn't like the illustrations in the book it was done with water color and I feel like it was a little jumbled. It's time for lunch, and one little mouse is famished! In fact, he's so hungry that once he starts eating, he can't stop. He sinks his teeth into a crisp white turnip, gobbles up some orange carrots, devours an ear of yellow corn, then tosses back some tender green peas. He's full, but this mouse keeps on munching until his bulging belly won't hold another bite. Children will proudly identify the colors of his (and their) favorite foods, and enjoy guessing what fruit or vegetable he'll eat next. Lunch is an easy read book. This book is about a mouse that is very hungry and it goes through all the different foods he eats. This is a good book for teachers to have in their library to have students read to themselves. The words are very easy and there are a few words on the page so it won’t intimidate an early reader or a student who doesn’t like to read. The illustrations are very colorful and they look to be done with watercolor. no reviews | add a review
