Finished My Story. Starting No. 18, Gore Vidal's Creation. I have read it before, so it won't need a lot of concentration but will probably keep me going through the long plane flight home on Thursday. It brings the TBR pile down to 52.

Omnibus edition of 3 ... Finished Cranford/Cousin Phillis. Starting No. 17, Dave Pelzer's My Story, which is an omnibus of his three books, A Child Called It, The Lost Boy, and A Man Named Dave. This brings the TBR pile down to 53.

I bought Dave Pelzer's My Story, which is a compilation of his 3 autobiographical books; Philip Yancey's The Bible Jesus Read about the Old Testament; and I'm Fine With God ... It's Christi ... ... of reading about Afghanistan just didn't appeal to me, but once I got started on it, I couldn't put it down.
I also read A boy called IT in about an hour and a half. I thought it was sad and horrifying, and I wouldn't want to read it again. That was my reaction to A Boy Called It; after just a few chapters I had to skip paragraphs, then multiple pages in order to get through it... I might have had a breakdown if the ending was not in a positive direction... "Truth is scarier..." the only book I absolutely could not continue reading (besides poorly written books) was A Boy Called It -- I was horrified, and had to skip whole chapters and skim the ones I did read, and then go sit in my sons' room to watch them sleep peacefully and be thankful... went ... This year so far I've only re-read three books. The Named and The Dark by Marianne Curley and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. There are a couple others I would like to re-read, but I have so much in my tbr pile and requested from the library the chances are slim that I will get to ... A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer
