Zuri Jackson tells the story of her best friend Danitra Brown thorugh a series of short heartfelt poems. Zuri opens the book by describing Danitra as the most slendiferous girl in town and then goes on to tell why her friend is so amazing. Grimes truly captures the wonders of childhood friendships and the ups and downs kids often experience with their friends. She perfectly depicts the benifits of bestfriends and why the ups always out weigh the downs. ( )
