I've won 11 since November 2007. I did not receive one, Firefly Lane, back in December 2007 (I really wanted to read that one, too, bummer). I try to be really selective when requesting; I only won 4 books in all of 2008.

I just saw something very odd on the books I won tab. It says I won a copy of Firefly Lane back in December of 2007? I never won this book. I did however buy a copy of this book back about the first of this year and reviewed it then. It looks like it took 2 years for me to review that book. = ...

>#77 Bridget770 Firefly Lane is a good one for a difficult week at work. A good read, a little fluffy, but not too. No big mysteries or puzzles. I read it not too long ago for the same reason.

#77 - Bridget770, hope you enjoy Firefly Lane, I really enjoyed that book. I am still working on Crime and Punishment and The Host, also plan to add in The Madonnas of Leningrad this week. And when not reading, I will be working on my new book blog Bailey's and Books (http://baileysand ...

Book #8 Firefly Lane was good in a Lifetime movie kind of way. It follows the friendship of two seemingly opposite girls from junior high through the rest of their lives. It is somewhat sappy and plays on your emotions but the characters are good. You feel for Kate, the quieter and more reserved ...

Seconding Jodi Picoult. Also Kristin Hannah who wrote Firefly Lane (an ER book). Matter of fact, let's throw One in a Million author Kimberla Lawson Roby on the pile (another ER), as well.

Book#11 of 2009 Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah 479 pages Total pages to date in 2009=3,907 I gave this book 3 stars. I did enjoy reading the book, but I felt the nostalgia and best friends forever thing was a bit forced. It gave an interesting analysis of friendship, especially when one ...

Only one this year: Firefly Lane.

I requested Sarah's Key and Firefly Lane; I got Bitter Sweets. No complaints here, though--it looks like a good one. Spacmann, you may want to check with them before doing a give-away if it's an ARC. Someone got their hand slapped (kindly) by another publisher for doing an ARC give-away. I ...

As for Firefly Lane, you dodged a bullet, IMO. But I understand not wanting to miss out on future opportunities.

I agree. I never received Firefly Lane due to some sort of error on the part of the publishers, and was therefore never able to review it. I haven't "won" an ARC from LT since. I really hope I'm not permanently penalized. :(

I'd be interested in either/or Firefly Lane or The Guardians. I'm new, but I'd really like to read these books!

Posted up my review on the Firefly Lane page. At first, I found the book a little too predictable and Lifetime-movie-in-book-form, but the more I read, the more I enjoyed the book. It really came into it's own in the last 1/4 of the book.

Just finished Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah and starting The Dark Queen by Susan Carroll.

3. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah This book pulled me in from the start with the story of friendship between Katie and Tully. I felt I had gone back in time with the girls to the 70's,80's, 90's and experienced their ups and downs in growing to adulthood. The contrasting life (career vs ...

Finished Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah, which was a Early Reviewer book I got. There have been mixed reviews about it, but I really enjoyed it. Now I am starting The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl...

#12 - Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

Ok everyone a new month!! I finished Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah and I really liked it (it was my LT Advanced reading copy). It's gotten mixed review from most of the Early Reviewers, but I loved it!! To each there own I guess.

I just finished Firefly Lane and posted my review. I thought it was a great book. It's amazing to see the wide range of opinions on the book. I am probably one of those that 'grew up' during this time frame (70's-80's), so I could relate to all the pop culture nostalgia the author used (yes, ...

I've gotten two books--Firefly Lane in the December batch and now The Translator in the January bonus batch. These two books had 250 and 200 copies available, so I'm guessing I wasn't the perfect match for either. I am looking forward very much to reading the Translator. I have a pretty eclectic ...

readafew in Early Reviewers : Curious (Jan 31, 2008, 12:08pm)

Was it Firefly Lane? that was one where after the notices were sent out the publisher sent more copies.

I also have a copy of Firefly Lane to pass along -- take a look at the posted reviews, then send me a private comment if you're interested. edited to add: Snagged by an LTer

Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Early Reviewers book. I'm not counting this in my books read because I couldn't bear to finish it. Awful tripe. After I read the first few chapters I had to skim the rest. For this I waited to start Anna Karenina. katster in Early Reviewers : December Book Watch (2007) (Jan 29, 2008, 1:43am)

cabegley in 50 Book Challenge : marcyjill (Jan 27, 2008, 7:41pm)

You need a change of pace, marcyjill--two reviews of books that reminded you of TV! I've been reading mixed response to Firefly Lane, and some people who flat-out hated it. I'm interested as to what you think it was in your library that snagged you a copy, and if you thought it was a good ...

I received one in October, a surprise Firefly Lane for December, and I've been notified that I'm receiving a January book. That puts me up to three.

mydomino1978 in Book Fiend : Firefly Lane (Jan 26, 2008, 6:49am)

Firefly Lane was and early release book I got through the Early Reviewers Group. Predictable, not that well written, maudlin. Glad it only took a day to read it, thanks to big print.

... and reread Tim's comments and my own comments at the time. I've actually gotten two books since then--a surprise copy of Firefly Lane and the Translator from the most recent batch. Since there were 200 copies or more of both books, I didn't have to have a top score. But as I said in my posts ...

... of the same issues with the book as you all did, I thought it was pretty decent overall. My review is posted under Firefly Lane

I just finished Firefly Lane and would be happy to pass it on to whoever. Leave me a comment and I'll send it along.

Anna Karenina. I gave up on Firefly Lane. Just couldn't bear to read 500 pages of less than mediocre writing.

#7. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Review posted; not one of my favorites. Back to mysteries for a while, I think.

My review of Firefly Lane is up. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I'd hoped.

Whoo, I'm getting The Moon in the Mango Tree! That makes two for me now; one expected (this one) and Firefly Lane which was unexpected. :)

... and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing the movie now..and then read the 2nd book soon!! Now on to my ER book, Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. So far,it seems, a lot of people haven't liked it, but I shall soon find out myself!!

Yeah I didn't get any either (wanted the IBS one, oh well!), but as I got the extra Firefly Lane I'm not going to complain.

I started Firefly Lane tonight, an early review book. I don't think I can read this. By page 10 I'm already loathing it. Just bad writing. And I held off starting Anna Karenina for this???

An Early Review book arrived today: Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. (So far I'm totally underwhelmed.)

5. Firefly Lane - another early reviewer book. I did not like this book at all. Yuck.

I just finished Firefly Lane yesterday and so far the only good thing that I can think of to say about it is that it only took me one day to read. I am still trying to compose my review in my head and am having a difficult time choosing how to word it without insulting people who may actually ...

Finished Firefly Lane last night and had mixed feelings about it. It's too girly for me, but someone who likes that sort of thing would probably love it. Today I'll be starting Foreigner by C.J. Cherryh for the Green Dragon group read, and after that I'll probably read The Eyre Affair ...

I finished The Story of Forgetting last night - one of my early reviewers and absolutely loved it. I started Firefly Lane, my other early reviewer book, as soon as I was finished with that one. So far, eh ok I guess. I am only about 50 pages in or so but, while I don't hate it, I don't think ...
