Strangers - Taichi Yamada (seconded) ... didn't know anything about John Dillinger until a few years ago when I read one of Stephen King's short stories included in Everything's Eventual. So I wasn't burdened by historical accuracy or anything, and I've read some negative reviews (this after seeing the film because I don't like reading ... I haven't read Everything's Eventual, but I have read Everything on a Waffle. I haven't read Bloody Jack but I have read Everything's Eventual I just finished Everythings Eventual and am starting Skeleton Crew. I have also started reading A Circle of Souls Which is very good so far. I am looking forward to recieving my next to reviewer books in the mail. I got 2 e-mails earlier today. ... I still haven't finished any of the books I have been reading I just haven't been able to get into them. But I picked up Everything's Eventual last night and I think short stories are exactly what I am in the mood for... ... four of his collections.

8. Everything's Eventual by Stephen King. I've always enjoyed Stephen King short stories, and this book was no exception. It was interesting to see how different the story 1408 was from the movie. (583 pages) I'm simultaneously reading three books right now:

The Clues: It is not from any of the seven Dark Tower books and not a story or from a short story collection. Nope. Not Everything's Eventual . I will say it is a novel and not a story or story collection. ... a break. I read 5 of the stories (or actually 4, because I already read the first one by Stephen King in his collection Everything is eventual) and I really enjoyed them, but I felt like a change. For the Dark Tower, I'd leave only those books that are really part of the story in place. Everything's Eventual is borderline with the Sister's story, but it's a prequel. I believe that the Gunslinger trade is in (another series exists for the individual comics) ... ... that the 2001 series of Arthur C. Clarke includes The Sentinel. Even Stephen King's Dark Tower series includes Everything's Eventual since a prequel story is included. At least the Sherlock Short story collections are all Mr. Holmes. Even closer, Encyclopedia Brown is a series ... ... there are some creepy moments inside it too and it is very nicely written.
As a short story, 1408 in Stephen King's Everything's Eventual deals with a haunted hotel room and gave me the creeps for weeks after I read it.
ETA - Maggie O Farral wrote a very good haunted house short story ... ... many series out, it's not even funny. Many are subtitled, but many are not. How dare the person include a short story in Everything's Eventual in the Dark Tower series? I know it was a prequel and it explains a lot about the goings-on in the series - but it's out!, right out! Doesn't fit ... Me Talk Pretty One Day is probably a bad example. I'm thinking more along the lines of Consider the Lobster or even Everything's Eventual where these essays and stories were previously published elsewhere.

I did enjoy Cell for its fast pace and gruesome violence, it reminded me of a Richard Laymon type story, minus the gratuitous sex. ... I realized I had been reading the Dark Tower series anyway (The Stand, The Talisman, Black House, From a Buick 8, Everything's Eventual, Insomnia, It to name a few) that I decided to read the thing from beginning to end.
