A fun read about a saucy woman who began her "career" as a model for the male, french artists of the pre/impressionist period, taught herself how to paint and became a fantastic artist in her own right.

I enjoyed this book for its fun writing and style- the prose was engaging, the book taught me about Parisian life pre and post French Revolution and it was liberating to read about a woman who controlled every aspect of her non-traditional life. ( )
