...   is a much better book. First Draft in 30 Days by Karen S. Wiesner provides a systematic and coherent approach to building a cohesive manuscript. I highly recommend this one.
I used First Draft in 30 Days for the novel I wrote last November (during NaNoWriMo)... it was fantastic! I planned out almost everything and then was able to write it up much more easily afterward (unfortunately, the one I'm writing now I didn't do that for, since I actually started it back in 20 ... ... words), by the end of the first week in April. (4 months work)
I picked up an interesting book at the library today: First Draft in 30 Days. The 30 day method shows you how to create an outline so detailed and complete that it actually doubles as your first draft. The book has lots of ... No Plot No Problem Is a definite.
First Draft in 30 Days also helps.
Though I might also recommend On Writing since Stephen King tends to give good writing advice in it. (Stick to the second half, where the writing advice is, if you don't have time for the entire book.) ... as in details and descriptions.
My problem with doing my own, is I'm not sure how to structure it. I found one in First Draft in 30 days but it has irrelevant information, save the place name. (Time of season/year doesn't really matter when dealing with a space station, usually, ... ... do you have a cleric with a vow of healing being asked to kill thousands?)
As a suggestion for a book, I'd offer up First Draft in 30 days by Karen Wiesner. She works from the characters and worksheets about the worlds and things around the characters to get a novel in 30 days. (Doesn ...
