Review
Richelle Mead is the J. K. Rowling of YA paranormal literature. The Vampire Academy books are rich, layered, sexy, and yet as addictive as a box of high-quality chocolates.
One of the things I like most about the Vampire Academy series, ... I didn't enjoy Twilight either but I did like the Vampire Academy series. There are 4 books in it.
... or early '80s but since it takes place even further back than that it didn't seem dated.

 sdbookhound in Read YA Lit : YA Book Reading November, 2009 (Nov 16, 2009, 11:22pm) I'm reading Frostbite Vampire Academy series #2. I've read Twilight and I like these better so far. I'm more of a realistic fiction reader so these are a stretch for me but I'm enjoying it more that I thought.
I have been writing some short posts... but here is another. I finished the second book in the Vampire Academy serires Frostbite and I really enjoyed it. Now I am on to the third. I still don't think I will get 11 books done before the end of the year, but I can keep trying. young adult series that include vampires and/or werewolves include vampire academy series by Richelle Mead, Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine, House of Night by PC Cast &Kristin Cast, Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz, Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clar ... I really enjoyed The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead You should give it a shot :)

Ahhh another teen vampire series. I love them. Definitely my guilty pleasure. This series ... Vampire Academy is the most recent book I have finished. I am also just starting Frostbite today. I may not make the 30 total as I skipped out in a few months of reading books, but I should get in a few more before the end of the year. ... Cast's House of Night series. I've found that I enjoy the Vampire Academy series more.

This is probably the most predictable of Mead's books. So much of the plot is given away on the back cover that the element ... I love paranormal romance & some of my favorite series are The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward - The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead which is YA but very good & if you liked Twilight then you will like VA even better (atleast I did) - Kresley Cole is a great ... ... It's a quick read but you can't put it down. I will have to say although I really like this series I actually liked the The Vampire Academy better. And then there were none by Agatha Christie I liked the first book in the Vampire Academy series. Blue Bloods is also pretty good. I didn't care for the House of Night series, but a lot of people really like them. And the Sookie Stackhouse series (Dead Until Dark, etc.) is an adult series that is pretty well done. An adult ... ... still be satisfied with this intelligent, snarky, and deeply satisfying book. Well done, Kirstin. Well done.

It's better then Twilight and The House of Night.
If she likes a bit of history, The Secret Countess is a good read too.
Oh, on my 15th birthday my mom bought me this book because of it's title and it ended up being really good. It's called ... I have not read any other books by Richelle Mead other then the Vampire Academy series, which I just started book 4 (I'm at chapter 10).
I hope that you enjoy Blood Promise :D I would also recommend series: Vampire Academy, Blue Bloods, The Vampire Diaries, Evermore by Alyson Noel, anything by Sarah Dessen Ink Heart (I am not sure if that last one is considered YA or not...)The Sisterhood of the travelling Pants and Uglies. I'm also not sure about ... I do agree about majority of YA are series - but since I love series it works for me :) I would have to say The Vampire Academy was really good and Im actually reading Marked right now & I am really enjoying it. There was also another thread that asked for favorite YA books so you may want ... ... - but my top list is Vampires, even when I was younger. I liked Twilight but not one of my top 10. I read her YA Series Vampire Academy which I love and can not wait for the next one to come out this month but I haven't heard anything on her 2 other Adult Series she has & Im always looking ... The Vampire Academy series is definitely my all time favorite seiries :) the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead is my absolute favorite series (even better then Twilight and the House of Night series) I'm reading some manga series at the moment (Nana and Fruits basket), but I will probably re-read the Vampire Academy series before the 4th book comes out August 25th. ... was just ok - I hope this one is better, if not then Im done with the series.

Recommended - Definitely, yes. I'm really enjoying the Vampire Academy series.
I certainly enjoyed this one much more than 2008's 7th book, Prisoner of T ... I finished Frostbite in one afternoon (good book!) and will be moving on to The Pagan Stone next. I'm just starting Frostbite by Richelle Mead (I guess I'm following in your footsteps Scrpo!) I'll probably order Shadow Kiss from the library once I've finished.
It was a toss up between that The Pagan Stone and Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy. Out of my library stack I finally settled on Frostbite by Richelle Mead. I just finished The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead I enjoyed it - Im going to pick up frostbite and Shadowkissed - I also am reading Kresley Cole MacCarrick Brothers series soo good. ... History
