I liked this one better than I, Robot, actually. I thought it was a smooth read. Even though it's a collection of short stories I thought the narrative flowed well from one story to the next. Asimov's insights were interesting as well. ( )

These are really the leftover stories, not as good as those in I, Robot. ( )

This is an Asimov short story collection about robots, where the stories are entirely contained in The Complete Robot, although in a different order. These stories are similar in vein to those in I, Robot, although it is odd that not all of the hyperspace development stories are present (perhaps some weren't written yet?). This is a good book, I liked it.

A collection of less well known Robot stories, even the satirical Galley Slave.

Asimov starts of talking about the Shelleys, of all things, to start with in his intro, to lead into talking about Capek and R.U.R. and hence to his robots.

Another solid collection of stories, here.

More robot stories in the vein of 'I, Robot'. Written mostly in the 50s, they still retain vitality and amuse and impress with their ingenuity. I feel this collection is better than its predecessor and a must read for fans of Asimov's short stories. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0586025944, Mass Market Paperback)

The Rest of the Robots is the third timeless, amazing and amusing volume of Isaac Asimov's robot stories, offering golden insights into robot thought processes. Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics have since been programmed into real computers the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and used as the outline for a legal robotic charter in Korea. ROBOT TONY is the first robot designed to perform domestic duties by the US Robots and Mechanical Men Corporation. Is it Tony's fault that the lady of the house where he's field tested falls in love with him? - ROBOT AL was intended for shipment to a mining outfit on the moon. Instead, he's loose in the mountains of Virginia...building from scraps of junk his very own, very dangerous disintegrator. - ROBOT LENNY answers workaday questions in babytalk. So why is Dr Susan Calvin, the world's top robopsychologist, fascinated by this messed up specimen of an industrial robot?

The collection of short stories in this book are wonderful. Each tale has its own charm and many include the familiar caharcters of Dr. Lanning and "cold as sttel" Dr. Calvin. The earliest story was written in 1942, and although it might be considered "dated", it certainly isn't. It's quite difficult to put down as the stories are fast paced and intersting the whole way through. If you are a robot fan, or an Asimov lover, or reader of classic sci-fi, this title is not to be missed!… (more)
