I am currently reading the birth book, becoming a mother, diary of a baby, what to expect when you're expecting, and the outstretched shadow. looking at that list, I need to work on finishing one book before picking up another. Let me add my congrats too! I totally agree with the post about What to Expect When You're Expecting. Even during my first pregnancy I found myself often infuriated. The guidelines on exercise are ridiculous, and I did NOT give up brie!! At the same time, it IS full of lots of useful ... Big Girls Don't Cry I really hated the What to Expect books, but they're so ubiquitous that I don't think you can avoid them. Just read them with a grain of salt and read lots of other things and know that it's fine to disagree with the opinions expressed as facts within!

My wife hated What to Expect When You're Expecting and told me not too read it, so I didn't. What she didn't like was that she felt the book basically said that "to have a healthy baby ... ... Tales of the Beedle Bard, and various seasonal favorites. And, due to recent life changes/developments, I am also reading What to Expect When You're Expecting and What to Eat Before, During, and After Pregnancy. ... be The Tales of the Beedle Bard, then some seasonal books.
