The story is told from Jesus' own point of view and describes events from the winter before the wedding at Cana through his baptism by John the Bapti ... ... Irene is getting more and more awful. Olive is a nasty piece of work as well.
A friend lent me Anne Rice's The Road to Cana, which I must admit I'm not really interested in at the moment, but will read. 1.2 Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana by Anne Rice started 3/4/09; finished 3/6/09 #35 Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana by Anne Rice.
I never read any of Ann Rice's vampire books, ( as the kids today say, I'm not into vampires ). However, I love her new Christ the Lord series. I read Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt when it first came out, and was captivated.

Started listening to Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana by Anne Rice last night. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had a greater knowledge of the source material. I'm an art historian, so I know a fair amount about Chri ... ... me turning pages. (I've never had occasion to use the word frisson before. I hope I used it correctly.)
Then I read Christ The Lord: The Road To Cana, by Anne Rice. The beginning makes me think she had trouble getting started - some of the paragraphs are not only one sentence too ... I'm about seventy pages into The Road To Cana, Anne Rice's latest. So far, it just isn't grabbing me. Sigh.
