Outdated, waaaaay outdated overview to many different types of programming languages. Does not include newer types of languages such as scripts, and markup languages, or the modern OO-languages like C# and JAVA.

Focus of the book is on using different languages for examples on what a modern programming language needs to include: syntax & semantics, type checking, scope, data types and ADTs, expressions, assignment statements, control structures, subprograms, concurrency, and exception handling. ( )
