This is a perfect book for early readers. It is comprised of three short stories. The stories are separated into chapters that tell the story of Henry and his dog Mudge and the adventures they have while spending time outdoors. ( )

This is one in a long line of super Henry and Mudge stories. Three short stories in one book, the adventures of a boy, Henry, and his dog, Mudge. In this book, they go on a picnic with a bee, bath time and a magic tree. I love these stories they share the joys of childhood between Henry and Mudge. They include childhood activities kids can relate to and fun times with big Mudge, a Mastiff. The humor and adventures they share inspire young readers to read all of their stories!

I have a lot of respect for Henry's mom. In some ways I want to be her, with a big porch & yard & trees, and long dresses and bare feet - but I don't want a huge slobbery dog, thank you. ( )

Henry and Mudge are friends that go in some adventures in the summer and have a fun time with whatever they are doing. This is a great book to use for younger readers who want to read "chapter" books, because they are very short chapters and have a lot of pictures. It's a good book to use for friendship because there is a whole series the students can read that go on the same premise. ( )
