Well then let's skip the pretenses. Wow! the fabled Chapter 32 lived up to its hype. It is presently the best sex scene in my book. The blind fold, tied up in bed and the jack hammer way of having an all nighter, all those emotions and weird shit vampire loving, I momentarily forgot Eric and Sookie's Definitely Dead fair share of carnal passion . Smut aside, this is my favorite Night Huntress book so far. At the end of book one I was disquieted I thought Bones and Cat's star-crossed-lovers-ish predicament will continue until maybe book 4 or the later, I applaud Ms. Frost for skipping that unnecessary anticipation, everything had played well. At first I toyed with the idea that Bones professed love for Cat turned into hatred, when she left him with that note in Ohio. I was somewhat wishing that Tate would play as a third person in a love triangle. Glad that did not happened. The unpredicted and stereotypical part never happened when Cat took the plunge in giving her relationship with Bones the second chance it deserve (without so much as pep talk) Justina's prejudices about the undead played out well too. And I was truly shock that Don is Cat's Uncle. How fitting! the revelation that a living relative on Cat's father side is still alive was truly surprising. Oh and what about Annette, I love it when an ex-flame shows up and taunt he heroin, that cat fight would have been more awesome if Annette fought back a little. And last but not the least the ending, Dude! that was beyond excellent. Bones is now a free man and married to cat under vampire law, Cat finally met his father, Ian's off their back (for now) and Dave is back. If it didn't know any better, I would have pegged this as a happy ending. I cannot wait to see what other surprises Ms Frost has penned up ( )

Four years after the first installment in Frost's Night Huntress series- Cat is now working for a secret agency within the government that tracks paranormal creatures much like her. At first, coerced into working for the agency to escape a murder rap, Cat is content to lead the crack team placed under her- if only to keep her secrets hidden.

But when a decidedly evil colleague of her former mentor/lover Bones takes an interest in acquiring Cat, one secret is about to make itself known in a big way.

When a hit is put out on Cat, she once again leans on the one man- or vampire- she trusts with all her body and soul. Bones is back and he wants more than the platonic relationship Cat's asking for. Will she be able to deny him as well has her heart's desire?

Bloody and bold as ever, Cat has grown since we last saw her. She leads a team of loyal men against the rogue creatures of the night and, being half-vamp herself, she's good at what she does. She's hidden the fact that Bones is really alive from everyone in hopes of forgetting him, but it hasn't happened in four years and never will. She tries moving on, even dates other men, but nothing will do but Bones. When he comes back into her life she puts up little fight when he makes it clear he still wants her, because, despite the other trustworthy men she now has in her life- he's still the one she can trust above all others. I like that about these two. There is an intimacy between them that spans time and distance and it reeled me in. The plotting is tight in One Foot In The Grave and I liked the menace created by the hunt for Cat- as well as the revelation of her very creation. Cat oozes strength but there is also a vulnerability that makes her likable as well and, in the end, it's the characters Frost's created that make this series a winner.

Excellent addition to the series and looking forward to read the rest! ( )

Cat has gone 4 years without Bones and at her best friend's wedding he happens to be the Best Man. All her emotions come running back to her from that night when he left; along with hit men out for her and Ian is back in town. Everyone is out to get Cat, and all she wants is to be able to keep Bones from working his way back into her life, and into her bed. A lot of things fall into place with Cat's family history, and her job. ( )

It's not a bad series & I'll likely buy the third. Vampire romance is more my daughter's cup of tea than mine, but there's plenty of action & it's an interesting world. ( )

Life's a bitch and then one stabs you.
