Adult (nonfiction). A tale of loneliness and waiting, as told by one man through his exquisitely crafted papercutting. Pretty depressing, really, but meant (I think) to be uplifting. Lovely artwork nonetheless. (

5 stars for the gorgeous paper-cut-out artwork, 3 stars for the first 10 pages or so of the story, and 1 star for the other 20 or so pages. (

A lovely book. I liked that you almost couldn't tell the drawnings and the words apart. Maybe I expected just a little bit more, but I'm not disappointed, because frankly this should deserve 4 stars for the drawnings alone. (

Rob Ryan's work will be familiar to many through book covers for others, but now he has written a short story about yearning for love that is completely written in and illustrated by his intricate and beautiful papercuts.
You can read the entire book in ten minutes, but you will take much longer to examine and appreciate the art in the illustrations. (
