( )As a fan of the Stephanie Plum novels, Janet Evanovich's "other" novels don't usually hold my attention as much. Most of the time they get bogged down in sappy romance, which is not why I enjoy Evanovich's writing style. In this one, she uses the wit and sarcasm she usually reserves for Stephanie Plum in a character that would probably be friends with Stephanie Plum. A great, fast read - held my attention all the way through. I'll definitely be checking out the others in this series. Funny stuff. (Spoilers) Too bad Hooker cheated on Alex (First page of the book). I wanted to like him. I can't believe she forgave him in the end. Although I guess I can afterall, they are both cheaters in one way or another by the end of the book;) A light fluffy enjoyable read, made slightly irksome by the fact that Evanovich keeps recycling characters in her books making them all too - 'ho hum' - the same. Somthing new would be nice. I don't think I'll continue buying this series, I thought I'd give the first two a go but wasn't in love with the first one, finding it too similar to the plum series and the second one failed to change my mind. The Alex Barnaby series is something that I wish she would cont. it was well worth every penny. no reviews | add a review
