Another of the Stephanie Plum series. I listened to this one on audiobook - for me, they are perfect for that format. The story moves along quickly, there is some humor, and I like the main character. Eleven On Top by Janet Evanovich

Is it fashionable to put down Janet Evanovich because she isn't deep and literary? Maybe so, but it's also shallow and provincial. She may not be Jane Austen, but in her genre she is peaking and still has a ton of upside.

Catch 22 ... A librarian friend told me that I should try a Janet Evanovich Plum novel read by Lorelei King. I found unabridged Twelve Sharp on casette at a used book store and bought it even though I had already read the book. Ms King is superb. If you know of JEs crazy characters (like Stephanie, ... ... I am reading two mind-candy novels: If Angels Burn by Lynn Viehl ("A Novel of the Darkyn," i.e., sexy vampires) and Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich (the latest Stephanie Plum mystery). After those, I plan to read The Saint's Day Deaths, the first of the series of historical mysteries ... finished kushiel's chosen and Twelve Sharp, now re-reading (and almost finished) Darkly Dreaming Dexter - well I did nominate it for my bookclub so I feel obliged to have it fresh in my memory.
Next up will probably be Cup of Morning Shadows unless it's hiding with Guppies for Tea and ...
