FFortuna in Book talk : Teen Romance Books (Dec 19, 2009, 11:44am)

... Me by Kimberly Pauley, and hush, hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. If you're saying all of them were bad... I loved Evernight, but I won't speak for the rest either because I haven't read them yet or because I didn't like them.

FFortuna in Book talk : good vampires (Nov 16, 2009, 9:32pm)

Evernight is fantastic, you should definitely read it! Sucks to Be Me is another great one that's mainly about good vampires.

FFortuna in Book talk : Vampire books (Oct 14, 2009, 9:32pm)

Evernight by Claudia Gray Sucks to Be Me by Kimberly Pauley Demon in my View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes Need by Carrie Jones (Not vampires but very similar) ^Just the ones I've read personally and can recommend in good conscience.

The Evernight series is a lot like Twilight but better in my opinion. There's also the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris starting with Dead Until Dark, or the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton starting with Guilty Pleasures. That series doesn't get romancey until ...

I just finished book three of the Evernight series, Hourglass by Claudia Gray It was exceptional, which was surprising because usually I don't enjoy series books. It had a little bit of everything and I'll definitely be looking for book four. It will be a long wait though, since book three ...

71. Evernight by Claudia Gray (04/09/09) An enjoyable young adult vampire novel. I thought this was a cut above the rest of this genre. The characters were a bit more interesting and sympathetic, the world-building was interesting, and the plot was well-paced, as it built up to a revelation ...

5. YA Vampire 9/9 1. Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead **** 2. Hunted by PC Cast and Kristen Cast **** 3. Evernight by Claudia Gray **** 4. Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and the Struggle by L. J. Smith **** 5. Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L. J. Smith ***1/2 6. Vampire ...

FFortuna in Book talk : Teen Reading: HELP! (Aug 5, 2009, 4:19pm)

Since you liked Twilight, I highly recommend Evernight by Claudia Gray.

27. Evernight by Claudia Grey in English A variation on a theme...

41.Blood and Chocolate 42.Be More Chill 43.The Blue Girl 44.Evernight 45.Gifts (Annals of the Western Shore) 46.Sabriel 47.The Summoning (Darkest Powers, Book 1) 48.A Wizard Abroad 49.A Wizard Alone 50.The Wizard's Dilemma I haven't posted in awhile so I just copied ...

... characters who seem so real and believable. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read The Goose Girl. 64. Evernight by Claudia Gray For a little while near the start of this book i had horrible imaginings that this book might turn out badly. Seeing the description of Lucas as " ...

I finished the book i picked up last night a little while ago - Evernight by Claudia Gray. For a vampire romance novel it what somewhat less irritating to read than twilight although i swear some facts were just sprung on me when i least expected it to hastily explain things that seemed ...

... because the first two books were excellent. Romantic and tense at the same time. I'll add some more recommendations: Evernight by Claudia Gray Sucks to Be Me by Kimberly Pauley Demon in My View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes Need by Carrie Jones

FFortuna in Book talk : twilight (Jun 4, 2009, 7:18pm)

... because there are both pros and cons. For people who find Twilight just fluff or don't like the content, I recommend Evernight by Claudia Gray and its new sequel Stargazer... it has a lot of the same themes but I feel like it dealt with them much more maturely and that the plotting ...

FFortuna in Book talk : Suggestions Anyone? (May 16, 2009, 6:19pm)

After looking at your library, I suggest Need, Evernight, Skulduggery Pleasant, Cathy's Book, The Silver Kiss, Sucks to be Me, and Devilish. Just off the top of my head. :)

... Okay, guess this one explains itself ;) 1. Melissa Marr : Wicked Lovely 2. CLaudia Grey : Evernight 3. Lisa McMann : Wake 4. Carrie Jones : Need 5. Alyson Noel : Evermore: The Immortals 6. Lilith Saintcr ...

... series really good? I purchased all of the books in that series and plan on reading them as soon as I'm done reading Evernight and the Blue Bloods series.

Welcome, Miranda! I have to say, I received Evernight as an Early Reviewer's copy last year and found it very disappointing and amateur... but who knows, maybe things were adjusted into the final draft! Plus, that's what we're all about here: differing opinions! Cute picture of your cat (is it ...

Nice list! I was eying Evernight the other day, but didn't have the heart... er pocket book... to add it to the others I had, still on the list to get though :)

... If you are willing to deal with these flaws and are able to work out the story in all the mess it is a good story. 3) Evernight by Claudia Gray. This is the first book that had me jumping and squealing since twilight. 4) The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper. 5) Peeled by Joan ...

I recommend Evernight. It would be appropriate for her age. I don't think Silver Kiss is good for her age or for if she wants more like Twilight as this is the opposite.

Well these are 2008 but i read them in 2009. The Girl Who Could Fly, The Juliet Club, and Evernight For a book published in 2009 i would have to say Raven. Although I plan on reading Hunger Games. It's just a matter of how to get ahold of it.

El, I loved forget about it!!! I'm reading Evernight, which I l...i...k...e... but have many gripes about. I also bought The Last Olympian, and Dead and Gone, both came out TODAY so I'm uber excited to tear into them!!! I also got the new Vampire Diaries today, which I also want to ...

... Anya makes a wonderful life for herself but never forgets about her mother. I ended up really enjoying this book. 9. Evernight by Claudia Gray Teen vampire fiction. A boarding school for vampires with humans now being admitted. Bianca (vampire) falls for Lucas (human) and suddenly ...

Stargazer by Claudia Gray Sequel to Evernight. I enjoyed it, though maybe not as much as the first. Really easy to read, similar to Twilight. And the covers are so pretty :)

FFortuna in Book talk : Need help!!! (Apr 20, 2009, 3:40pm)

... thread here: http://www.librarything.com/topic/48849, that has a lot of vampire and YA suggestions. I personally recommend Evernight by Claudia Gray and Demon in My View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

... some more books...I couldnt help it I say! They looked so good! anyway I brought the following... thirteen reasons why evernight wake and blue is for nightmares

... I came home to two packages on my doorstep, an (autographed!) ARC of Stargazer by Claudia Gray (sequel to the YA book, Evernight) and my LT ER copy of Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand. I love when the mailman drops that sort of mail off at my house-- but why do they have to leave all the ...

Definitely try out Evernight, I just finished it and it's amazing.

I just finished the kite runner by Khaled Hosseini. Evernight by Claudia Gray is the next on the list!

Evernight by Claudia Gray is a very similar book that I read a day or so after the start of the House of Night series (I'm curious as to who went first because there's a lot of similar ideas). I don't know that I like the heroine's choices towards the end of the story which probably skews my ...

... chips, vanilla, peanut butter, coconut, oreos, Want some? passes cookies to foggi ETA: Yayyy I haven't read Evernight But I have read The Kite Runner

I haven't read The Tales of Beedle the Bard But I have read Evernight

I just finished reading Evernight, and I definitely second it.

I would second Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith, and add Evernight by Claudia Gray and Sunshine by Robin McKinley. I would probably only recommend Sunshine to older teens, though - 15 or 16, maybe. All three of these are vampire books.

Evernight by Claudia Gray Vampire romance much like Twilight, yet quite different. I really enjoyed it. Maybe not as much as Twilight, but it was up there.

Hey Kat, I see you enjoyed Evernight... I think I have a review of it in my library (maybe? can't remember), as I read it last year. Unfortunately, I felt the total opposite about it as you did. Oh well, to each their own!

... since Janurary 1st. I think that's pretty good, since I'm not a really fast reader. 1.- Gone by Michael Grant 2.- Evernight by Claudia Gray 3.- Don't Die Dragonfly by Linda Joy Singleton 4.- Last Dance by Linda Joy Singleton I won't go into to much detail but I did write ...

BN:Tom's truck broke down BN: That leaves us with just my car... GN: I finished Evernight and started undone

Runa I finished Wake it really is wonderful. I also finished Tantalize and Evernight Tantalize I wouldn't recommend but Evernight is definately worth the read. I am now starting undone which has already pulled me in by the second chapter!

K, I finished Tantalize a couple minutes ago, my review is posted. I am now going to start Evernight even though I should be going to bed.

Evernight by Claudia Gray

I finished Tales of Beedle the Bard and stayed up til two last night reading Evernight now even with a TBR list longer than ever I'm left wondering..."Huh. So what should I read next? I would read New Moon, but there is a super long list for that and I can't afford to purchase it right ...

I finished Evernight and found it very cool - it doesn't drag on in the way that Twilight does, but it does have the forbidden romance that everyone loved in Stephenie Meyer's books. Some of the secondary characters were a bit one-dimensional, and I definitely had some questions that I ...

... becomes obsessed with the new girl from the city. I started reading The Devouring today and hated it, so picked up Evernight by Claudia Gray instead. I'm enjoying it so far, though I can see that it is going to be riddled with occult cliches.

... would have to be #1 on my list, of course! 5 stars! Feast of Fool The Secret Circle Volume I Slave to Sensation Evernight Night World No. 1 King of Sword and Sky Of course, out of those 18, only 3 books got below a 4.5 rating, so it's kind of hard to chose the 'tops' when ...

... Wife movie comes out December 25, 2008 Rachel McAdams ... Clare Abshire Eric Bana ... Henry DeTamble Evernight sounds good. I'll have to try it.

I just finished Evernight by Claudia Gray, and I loved it! I would recommend it to any Twilight lover, or any lover of fantasy books with a good dose of Romance. True romance, in my opinion. When it can survive through 'secrets' and 'betrayal', still coming out strong and pure, then it's true ...

... soon as I get the other two (I hate reading books out of order..) I'll be devouring them too. Edited: I just finished Evernight by Claudia Gray LOVED IT! 5 stars, perfect book, cannot wait for the next book in the series! A definite must read for any teen fantasy/romance book, ...

... regret it! Edited: Last night I finished A Warrior's Taking by Margo Maguire. Now I am turning my full attention to Evernight by Claudia Gray *A teen fantasy vampire novel that I am loving!!* and my new ARC copy of King of Sword and Sky by C.L. Wilson

... series I have to say after all vampire books I have read since Twilight I like them the best. You may also want to try Evernight it is more of a Romeo & Juliet type deal. Its a little cliché and there is a small issue with the fist half of the book jiving with the second but it is just the ...

19) Evernight - Claudia Gray I probably shouldn't comment too much on this one, since I received my copy through the Harpercollins FirstLook Club, which means it's an advance proof... I have to submit my review by the end of the month, which I should probably do before commenting on it ...
