If you're saying all of them were bad... I loved Evernight, but I won't speak for the rest either because I haven't read them yet or because I didn't like them. Evernight is fantastic, you should definitely read it! Sucks to Be Me is another great one that's mainly about good vampires. Evernight by Claudia Gray

^Just the ones I've read personally and can recommend in good conscience. The Evernight series is a lot like Twilight but better in my opinion. There's also the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris starting with Dead Until Dark, or the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton starting with Guilty Pleasures. That series doesn't get romancey until ... I just finished book three of the Evernight series, Hourglass by Claudia Gray
It was exceptional, which was surprising because usually I don't enjoy series books. It had a little bit of everything and I'll definitely be looking for book four. It will be a long wait though, since book three ... 71. Evernight by Claudia Gray (04/09/09)
An enjoyable young adult vampire novel. I thought this was a cut above the rest of this genre. The characters were a bit more interesting and sympathetic, the world-building was interesting, and the plot was well-paced, as it built up to a revelation ... 5. YA Vampire 9/9

64. Evernight by Claudia Gray
For a little while near the start of this book i had horrible imaginings that this book might turn out badly. Seeing the description of Lucas as " ... I finished the book i picked up last night a little while ago - Evernight by Claudia Gray. For a vampire romance novel it what somewhat less irritating to read than twilight although i swear some facts were just sprung on me when i least expected it to hastily explain things that seemed ... ... because the first two books were excellent. Romantic and tense at the same time.

For people who find Twilight just fluff or don't like the content, I recommend Evernight by Claudia Gray and its new sequel Stargazer... it has a lot of the same themes but I feel like it dealt with them much more maturely and that the plotting ... After looking at your library, I suggest Need, Evernight, Skulduggery Pleasant, Cathy's Book, The Silver Kiss, Sucks to be Me, and Devilish. Just off the top of my head. :) ...

on reading them as soon as I'm done reading Evernight
and the Blue Bloods series. Welcome, Miranda! I have to say, I received Evernight as an Early Reviewer's copy last year and found it very disappointing and amateur... but who knows, maybe things were adjusted into the final draft! Plus, that's what we're all about here: differing opinions!
Cute picture of your cat (is it ... Nice list! I was eying Evernight the other day, but didn't have the heart... er pocket book... to add it to the others I had, still on the list to get though :) ... If you are willing to deal with these flaws and are able to work out the story in all the mess it is a good story.
3) Evernight by Claudia Gray. This is the first book that had me jumping and squealing since twilight.
4) The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper.
5) Peeled by Joan ... I recommend Evernight. It would be appropriate for her age. I don't think Silver Kiss is good for her age or for if she wants more like Twilight as this is the opposite. Well these are 2008 but i read them in 2009. The Girl Who Could Fly, The Juliet Club, and Evernight
For a book published in 2009 i would have to say Raven. Although I plan on reading Hunger Games. It's just a matter of how to get ahold of it. El, I loved forget about it!!!
I'm reading Evernight, which I l...i...k...e... but have many gripes about. I also bought The Last Olympian, and Dead and Gone, both came out TODAY so I'm uber excited to tear into them!!! I also got the new Vampire Diaries today, which I also want to ... ... Anya makes a wonderful life for herself but never forgets about her mother. I ended up really enjoying this book.

ARC of Stargazer by Claudia Gray (sequel to the YA book, Evernight) and my LT ER copy of Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand. I love when the mailman drops that sort of mail off at my house-- but why do they have to leave all the ... Definitely try out Evernight, I just finished it and it's amazing. I just finished the kite runner by Khaled Hosseini. Evernight by Claudia Gray is the next on the list! Evernight by Claudia Gray is a very similar book that I read a day or so after the start of the House of Night series (I'm curious as to who went first because there's a lot of similar ideas). But I have read Evernight I just finished reading Evernight, and I definitely second it. I would second Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith, and add Evernight by Claudia Gray and Sunshine by Robin McKinley. I would probably only recommend Sunshine to older teens, though - 15 or 16, maybe. Evernight by Claudia Gray I finished Tales of Beedle the Bard and stayed up til two last night reading Evernight now even with a TBR list longer than ever I'm left wondering..."Huh. I would read New Moon, but there is a super long list for that and I can't afford to purchase it right ... I finished Evernight and found it very cool - it doesn't drag on in the way that Twilight does, but it does have the forbidden romance that everyone loved in Stephenie Meyer's books. Some of the secondary characters were a bit one-dimensional, and I definitely had some questions that I ... ... becomes obsessed with the new girl from the city.
I started reading The Devouring today and hated it, so picked up Evernight by Claudia Gray instead. I'm enjoying it so far, though I can see that it is going to be riddled with occult cliches. ... would have to be #1 on my list, of course! 5 stars!

Evernight sounds good. I'll have to try it. I just finished Evernight by Claudia Gray, and I loved it! I would recommend it to any Twilight lover, or any lover of fantasy books with a good dose of Romance. True romance, in my opinion. When it can survive through 'secrets' and 'betrayal', still coming out strong and pure, then it's true ... ... soon as I get the other two (I hate reading books out of order..) I'll be devouring them too.
Edited: I just finished Evernight by Claudia Gray LOVED IT! 5 stars, perfect book, cannot wait for the next book in the series! A definite must read for any teen fantasy/romance book, ... ... regret it!
