Suite Scarlett Maureen Johnson
3 stars
Suite Scarlett was a cute read - it was fun, frothy and focused on the apple of every YA blogger's eye, Spencer. It has a nice heart, some nice introspection but it failed to rock my world.
First of all, Spencer is great in that he' ... ... to the original (Wide Sargasso Sea wasn't too bad, but then, it was a prequel).
I have read the abomination that was Scarlett and it certainly put me off non-author sequels for life. Why? Why did anyone publish that piece of supernatural crazy rubbish. Clearly not someone who'd actually ... Right on, MrA!
Does anyone remember the travesty that was Scarlett, the "sequel" to Gone With the Wind?
Peter Pan has also gotten some sequels (I haven't read them, but I feel the same way as I do about Pooh & Miss Scarlett)
What next? Will Madeline grow up to take Miss Clavell's ... Finished Sarah Dessen's Along For The Ride and Suite Scarlett at the beginning of the month, and I'm getting ready to tackle Alyson Noel's Evermore. After that? Maybe Maureen Johnson? I've only read two of her books, Suite Scarlett and Girl at Sea; both had some romance. I second Suite Scarlett and also 13 Little Blue Envelopes also by Maureen Johnson. And her in general!
Dairy Queen and its sequel The Off-Season are awesome - everyone I've recommended them to has loved them.
Artichoke's Heart is one of my very favourites from last year.

Wicked Lovely -- I liked this better than most urban fantasy I've read (urban fantasy is generally not my thing).
