As one of the Knights of White, Des is part of the centuries-long war against the Darkland Beasts. While the valorous knights continue to prevail against the evil-doers who would destroy mankind, Des is fearful of losing his own more personal battle.

Each Knight of White holds a Beast inside himself and must work to keep that Beast at bay lest it consume his soul. With every day and with every battle, Des feels his beast more and more. When his current mission places him in close proximity to the very desirable Jessica Montgomery, he finds it even more difficult to calm the beast raging inside, who is determined to take the lovely curator in the most carnal ways. Not that Des disagrees on that score – Jessica stirs feelings inside him he never expected to experience again, even while he knows he can never have her.

Keeping his hands off is easier said than done, especially when their mission to protect the precious journal which is the key to the ancient angelic bloodlines keeps him by her side.

With the second release in her Knights of White series, Lisa Renee Jones proves this fantastic saga has got what it takes to go the distance. With a fresh new romance, a timeless theme, and a continuation of the storyline that arcs throughout the series, Beast of Desire will not only thrill readers, but compel them to wait impatiently for the next Knights of White story!

What I found unusual in this story is that even though Ms. Jones has created a story that is continued throughout each book, this second release is able to stand on its own and be easily understood by readers who may not have yet read the first book, The Beast Within. The author does an admirable job of writing this edition in such a way that she subtly builds the world enough that new fans will be curious to read that first book, but won’t feel as if they are missing part of the story vital for Beast of Desire to make sense. I applaud Ms. Jones’ foresight in making this new book an easy entry point for book lovers to begin enjoying her work.

Des is as compelling a hero as they come. He has the requisite tortured past which continues to haunt him and of course serves as a major roadblock to his relationship with Jessica. That past created some major trust issues for the man, while simultaneously making him doubt himself and fear what he is capable of. To be with Jessica, he must vanquish his doubts about himself and learn to trust Jessica.

There could be no better match for Des than Jessica. She treats Des with respect and kindness, making it impossible for him to turn away from her. Smart, sweet-natured and courageous, she effortlessly captures both his heart and ours. In real life, Jessica would be one of those women you would be jealous of if you didn’t like her so much. It doesn’t take any leap of the imagination to understand just why Des is so smitten with her from the get-go.

Fans of paranormal romances will want to rush to the store to pick up their copy of Knights of White, Book 2: Beast of Desire! Or better yet, pre-order your copy now. This sexy and touching love story is not to be missed.
