( )I thought it was an interesting read with alot of action and a few surprises from Rachel. It had a great story and was entertaining throughout....loved it! On the run from newly-located relatives out for blood, interior decorator Rachel Abbott stumbles across a downed plane and helps the pilot drag the wounded passenger to safety. Lots of handy coincidences and some romantic banter lager, the bad guys get caught. Snappy dialogue isn't enough to salvage weak plotting. Another nice Sherlock and Savich novel. The formula still works. Interior decorator, Rachael, wielding a shotgun to save herself from a hidden gunman. Excellent! More characters in this story, less Savich/Sherlock, but still a great read.
This shaky beginning does prepare the reader for the clumsy writing that plagues the story, but, happily, Coulter’s talents for plotting, pacing, and action sequences make this light mystery a perfectly suitable beach read. Imagine watching back-to-back episodes of Law and Order, and you’ll have captured the experience of reading this novel.
