Unusual variety of imaginative pop-ups; the paper engineering and production is of high quality. I especially like the underwater scene in which Ollie converses with a frog, using his trunk as a snorkel. The designer chose to use a translucent overlay to convey the mild murkiness of the pond water. "Ollie the Elephant" is a story about an elepahant that had a birthday and all he wanted was a baby brother. Instead Ollie got a pair of roller skates and was sad so he skated away and ended up on an adventure. He went through animal to animal making his way back home and hoping for a little brother. In the end Ollie found his parents that explained that one day he could have the baby brother he hopes for. I loved the book. Not only was the story cute but it also had wonderful pictures. The pictures had great detail and made the story come to life. The story had a real life like situation of wanting a little brother. This book is just so cute and has a lot of different animals in it. A good idea for this book is to read it before of after going to the zoo. It has several animals that could be talked about in the book that you could relate to the zoo. no reviews | add a review
