I dropped Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. The latter is better so far.
Also One Piece by Eiichiro Oda - my favorite shounen. Everyone should read this series. I'm reading One Piece, and love it so much. Also Bleach, but still at volume 1 XD One Piece is the most imaginative and engaging example of the shonen genre, as far as I can tell. It's been running for 12 years and I've been reading it religiously for 3.
Gokusen would be a great choice for a library as well. ... different style than Fruits Basket which has a very different style from Lone Wolf and Cub which is nothing like One Piece, but all of these are manga. Similarly, Cairo, Mouse Guard, Bone, and Astonishing X-Men look nothing alike, but they are all American comics.
Sty ... I for one enjoy One Piece manga volumes. Now that Pirates of the Caribbean is completed as a trilogy, I've found that One Piece is my favorite Pirate fix. And who can say no to a stretchy armed pirate in a straw hat? Will Turner has nothin' on him (though Jack Sparrow would find him a worthy ... ... my brain.
I just about managed Maison Ikkoku and so now I've moved on to the hilarious yet somewhat dialogue-heavy One Piece (3) as well as Gantz (3).
I've read scanlations of Gantz before so I know the story, though to be honest most of the dialogue is of the "Aaaaaaaaaaargggggh!!!!" ... ... DIRTY JOB TP (MR) $9.95

TALES OF TM ... ... aren't capable of liking non-romance stories". My girlfriend loved Uzumaki and a Japanese (female) friend of mine loves One Piece as much as Nodame Cantabile. Rave Master, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Eerie Queerie, and Air Gear. And then that awful Bobobo thing... I've got most of these, but just can't get into them at all. D: Same for anything like Absolute Boyfriend... it's implausible in a bad way. ... the ones that i'd recommend are xxxholic, Bleach, Ouran High School Host Club, Tramps Like Us, Antique Bakery, One Piece and Kekkaishi.
though they're manhwa i'd also recommend, Angel Diary and Threads of Time
