I made the mistake of trying to read God's Politics using a booklight in my son's room as he falls asleep. It just is not an exciting enough book for that scenario, and I inevitably fall asleep. I do like Walli ... I had not heard of Homegrown Democrat--that looks good. If you're interested in liberal Christianity, have you read God's Politics by Jim Wallis? I wouldn't say it's a WONDERFUL book, but it's pretty good, and definitely for the layperson. ... Alternates

I've read Wallis's book before and am just planning to skim it to refresh my thoughts concerning it, ... ... but it seems like too cool of a phenomena not to jump in and be a part of!

(Oh and whoever picks for ... 16. God's Politics by Jim Wallis. I liked his message, but I would have liked to see more ties to specific scriptures instead of one (or occasionally two) Biblical passages for each chapter followed by lots of opinion. This is nonetheless a thought-provoking book.
