Okay, I managed to finish The New Testament and the People of God by N. T. Wright now. It was really good. Started off slow, but in retrospect, that part was so worth it. That brings my total to 68.

I'd recommend N.T. Wright's series "Christian Origins and the Question of God" The first volume The New Testament and the People of God by N.T. Wright gives the broad overall picture of the times and the concurrent world views worked out with an historian's methods. No simply easy answers ...
