There once was a pebble on a rocky shore. It was small and round and nearly smooth. Amid a seascape dotted with endless rocks, one pebble yearns to be special. A small pebble lives on the shore of the sea, but he longs to be something else. He has a hard time fitting in and wonders where he belong. Finally, he is able to find his place and feel like he belongs.

Pebble: A Story about Belonging by Susan Milord is a story about a pebble by a sea of endless rocks. This pebble wanted to feel special, and feel like it wasn’t just like all of the other pebbles. This book is meant to allow younger children to have something to relate to who are longing to feel special. Through this tale, a message about finding a place in this world is created. ( )
