The first book by this author, The Mark, managed to surprise me more times than any novel I've read in recent years...yet for some reason, I didn't expect the author to be able to do so twice in a row - and still he did! A great follow-up to his debut novel. At one point, I literally gasped out loud and had my mouth hanging open for a good 10 - 20 seconds as I took in what had just happened. The ending was a little fantastical, but if you suspend doubts or are given to flights of fancy, it won't be a problem for you to digest and "believe". This author's going on my long-term watch and "must read" list, joining Jonathan Kellerman, and William Berhnardt, among others. ( )I'll definitely go back and pick up the first book in the series and look forward to the next. no reviews | add a review

When this assassin realizes I'm getting too close to the truth, uncovering the past could jeopardize everything I care about. Because in his world there's a fine line between good and evil, and the difference between innocence and guilt depends on who's holding the gun.…
