Three of the kittens are not looking forward to the arrival of snow, which they have never seen before. However, the fourth little kitten is very excited and can't wait for the snow to arrive! As the kittens experience each of the seasons, they are in for a surprise when winter comes! There are four kittens who have never seen snow, and when they see pictures of snow or even think about it, they are terrified - all except the last kitten, who says, 'I can't wait!' As the seasons change and winter nears, the kittens continue to complain about how wet and scary the snow will be - all except the last kitten, who continues to say, 'I can't wait!' When the first snow finally falls, the kittens stay inside because they are scared of the white stuff - all except for the last kitten, who runs outside and throws himself into mounds of snow, fearless and joyful. When the other kittens see how much fun he is having, they change their minds and join him out in the snow. I've developed this really pathetic love of cutesy cat stories. This one is pretty plain, but the artwork really seems to capture the expressions and the behaviors of kittens. They way they move, look, and react all seem very much alive in a series of simple pictures. Highly enjoyable (and I also happen to love winter also) Fun, playful story about one kitten who just can't wait for snow to come. This was a cute book with simple but fun illustrations. I liked that the story line talked about the different season while still following the main idea that the kittens were going to be getting snow in the future. I think many kids can relate with either the of the character roles played by the cats. Outgoing and brave kids will make connections with the fourth kitten while other kids that are more shy or apprehensive about new situations can make connections with the other kittens. This would be a fun winter book to share with my kids, especially after an exciting snow day of our own. no reviews | add a review
